About Dip Top
Our Story
Dip Top has been a beloved fixture in Orange, Connecticut since 1956. As a family-owned ice cream shop, we take pride in our rich history and commitment to serving delicious treats to our community.
On January 14, 1999, a fire swept through the Orange Plaza shopping center, destroying two of the plaza's four shops. Amazingly, Dip Top stayed standing with only minimal damage from smoke and water.
In 2002, Dip Top was bought and renovated by the current owner, Ron Emmerthal. Dip Top is now open all year round. Many things have changed, Dip Top’s menu has expanded to include ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cakes, shaved ice, and over 16 hard ice cream flavors, but one thing has stayed the same. Dip Top has always been a place for families and the community to join together to share one thing in common, the love of ice cream.
